Current News
Kevin Pitts, DG District 5495 delivered the Friendship Trophy to the Rotary Club of the Verde Valley on September 14, 2023.  The Rotary Club of the Verde Valley, President Amanda Arnold, delivered the traveling "friendship" trophy to the Rotary Club of Sedona Village on October 12, 2023 at a joint club service project at Manzanita Outreach in Cottonwood.  The The Rotary Club of Sedona was also represented in this joint club service project. Rotarians lined cartons with plastic bags for their weekly food distribution and labeled donation request cards for about 2 hours.
There are four Rotary Clubs in the Verde Valley. They join forces in service projects and youth projects, such as sponsoring Interact Clubs at local high schools and junior high and often help each other raise funds for the services they support.

Tristan Trezise traveled to Kenya with the Rotary International Crutches for Africa team to deliver mobility devices to the disabled and school supplies to under-privileged schools.  He was sponsored by the Rotary Club of the Verde Valley and the Mingus HS Interact Club.
We celebrated the end of the two year Presidency term of Lynette Prouty, Treasurer, Tom Taylor and Secretary Dino Viotti, with the Installation of our new officers, Amanda Arnold, President, Richard Persely, Treasurer and Dino Viotti, Secretary.  We also celebrated 17 years of distinguished service by Brian Sawyer.  He will be moving to Casper, Wyoming and joing a Rotary Club there.  We appreciate all of your hard work over the years and wish you the very best Brian.  You will be missed!

We are excited for new ideas and fun projects with Amanda as the new President as of July 1, 2023.

The Rotary Club of the Verde Valley celebrated its 100 year Anniversary in collaboration with the Cottonwood Chamber of Commerce who celebrated their 75th Anniversary.  We held a Chamber Mixer at the Springhill Suites by Marriott on April 10, 2023.  It was a great turnout, including a visit from the current DG from Rotary District 5495, Larry Horton.  We had many of our club members in attendance, as well as some from other clubs, in Arizona.  Many local businesses were represented as well as Chamber members.  Thank you all for supporting our Club.

You can find some photos here, and some information about the club's beginnings in a 50 year anniversary program from 1973.  Our club began in Jerome, Arizona in 1923.

Enjoy!

VERDE VALLEY IMAGINATION LIBRARY

All children in the Verde Valley between birth and 5 years are eligible for a FREE age-appropriate book each month.  The Board of the VVIL is made up of members of our local Rotary Clubs, as well as local community members.  We are proud to support this organization both with monetary gifts and service.  This year we gave $9,750 in collaboration with all four Rotary Clubs in the Verde Valley and The Rotary District 5495 Matching Grant.

Let's share in the excitement!

One of the amazing organizations in the Verde Valley that the Rotary Club sponsors is Steps to Recovery Homes.  The Director is Damien Browning, a Rotary Club member.  There was an article in the local newspaper and we wanted to share it here.  Great job Damien and staff.

WE ARE PROUD TO SUPPORT OUR LOCAL INTERACT CLUB AT MINGUS UNION HIGH SCHOOL.  ONE OF THEIR COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECT IS THE LITTLE LIBRARY.  THEY HAVE INSTALLED 5 LITTLE LIBRARIES AT LOCAL SCHOOLS.
